Cisco 2600 Series Router Memory

Due to the end of sale action by Cisco, Cisco 2600 Series Multiservice Platform owners and networking professionals are encouraged to upgrade to use Cisco’s integrated services routers. The integrated systems offer a secure and wire-speed delivery of simultaneous data and applications. The embedded services through integrated systems enhance application deployments hence reducing operating costs. The end of sale does not apply to the new additions; Cisco 2691 Series Multiservice Platform and all the Cisco 2600XM models. The new versions offer a higher density & performance, enhanced security performance and increased concurrent application support.

The Cisco 2600 series has six versions excluding the later additions of the 2691 and 2600XM router models. They are;

    1. Cisco 2610 routers: The Cisco 2610 routers have 1 Ethernet port.
    2. Cisco 2611 routers: These ones offer 2 Ethernet ports.
    3. Cisco 2612 routers: The Cisco 2612 poses 1 Ethernet port and a token Ring Port.
    4. Cisco 2613 routers: They have 1 token Ring port.
    5. Cisco 2620 routers: Offers an auto-sensing Ethernet port of 10/100 Mbps
    6. Cisco 2621 routers: The Cisco 2621 offers 2 auto-sensing Ethernet ports of 10/100 Mbps

All the Cisco 2600 series routers have 1 AIM slot 2 WAN interface card and a network module slot. They also feature the Cisco IOS IP, one SIMM slot supporting 4 to 16 MB and two DIMM slots supporting 16 to 64 MB for DRAM memory.
